Bittersweet goodbyes from the Cohen lab as we see our undergrads and visiting scientists moving on. Julieta Merlo, an outstanding researcher from Argentina, joined the Gates team for only one year. During that time, Julieta was instrumental in moving our cell culture methods forward and establishing the first reliable in vitro meiosis culture methods for the lab. Julieta will continue to collaborate with us from Argentina. Meanwhile, our undergraduate, Khushi Saigal, was accepted into medical school with early admission, and our other undergraduate, Claire Wang, left to start graduate school at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. We look forward to seeing great things from all these amazing women!
